I worked in the energy sector and help do fundraising for various energy such as oil and gas in Texas. No one wants to invest anymore. The CapEx is insane, many are in debt, and if you're the lucky few you're ROR is only 10%. The biggest issue is that it takes ongoing investment to make things work and we have already reached peak supply so every year you produce less and less. Very high risk industry.

As a former california resident it was quite shocking the war on oil and gas began shortly after surveyors discovered enough oil in Elk Hills that was enough to supply the united states for 100 years.

Raising oil prices is a great way to ween the population off their addiction to oil and driving everywhere needlessly. Oil should be allocated to emergency services and food delivery. Everyone else needs to get their ass on a bike.
