In this video, we're going to talk about why chickens that eat ticks don't get Lyme disease.

There haven't been any known cases of humans getting Lyme disease from chickens. This is interesting because chickens are known to eat ticks.

Chickens can't get Lyme disease from eating ticks. This is because of how the digestive system works. When the tick is digested by the chicken, the bacteria that causes Lyme disease is killed off by the friendly bacteria, enzymes, and stomach acid.

A chicken's stomach has a pH of between 1.3 and 3.5, which will kill off most microorganisms.

Additionally, when a chicken gets the bacteria that causes Lyme from a bite, its immune response is strong enough to fight off the bacteria.

Keep in mind that not all ticks carry the bacteria that causes Lyme. Only 1% to 50% carry the bacteria, depending on the location.

A tick must be attached for at least 36 to 48 hours before the Lyme bacterium can be transmitted. It also takes 3 to 5 days for a tick to fill up with blood.

In summary, you don't have to worry about getting Lyme Disease from chickens—they are virtually unaffected by Lyme.

Please do a video on Chronic Lyme. Most people don't know how bad it actually can be. So many people end up bedbound and disabled from it. The CDC is of no help despite hundreds of great peer reviewed journals on the persistence of Borrelia. Also Bartonella, Babesia, Anaplasma, Ehlrichia, and others are very common that gets transmitted along with the Borrelia which makes it harder to get rid of. Thanks for another good video.

Dr. Berg, I have a 50 acre farm in Northern NH and I have about 30 chickens that are pastured on the property. Every time I harvest one of my birds, I always wonder why they don’t get ticks ON them like my larger livestock. I have never found a tick attached to a turkey or a chicken from my flocks. I also raised some guinea hens and for the first time this year and they spend all day looking for ticks to eat. I haven’t found a single tick on my property all year. Thanks for everything you do, Dr. Berg.

Just watched the Dr. Oz conundrum from a few years back…yeah best not to associate with that type of riff raff.
But just wanted to say thanks for posting these vids, you are helping all these people with the truth including me.
I am addicted to knowledge and being and staying healthy. You really helped open my eyes to the absolute informational imbalance regarding how our food is commercialized for human consumption. As I watched your vids and started eating way more healthy, the right foods, I noticed a huge change in weight loss, mood, cognitive effects, the whole works! Keep up the good fight, we all absolutely 100% got your back, thanks for having ours.

I love my chickens!! We have very few ticks or Japanese beetles and we’re normally plagued by them. We haven’t used tick or flea treatment on our pets this year either.

i’m sitting here now two weeks after getting tick bite. i’ve been sick these past couple of weeks. i live in country and i garden. that’s why i check everyday. this one attached and the bite spot is still inflamed. today i need to decide how to treat. i took one large dose doxycycline when i removed tick. and herbs since. what i’m trying to say here is that i’m beginning to believe that lymes can be transmitted earlier than 36 hours. also, i understand that 100% of ticks in places like new york, 100% of deer ticks carry lymes.
this will be my 3rd encounter with lymes.

So glad I haven’t seen a single tick on the west coast. Saw them in the southeast all the time but never out west

Dr Berg all of your Lyme disease videos have been on point. Thank you for the information I tested negative to Lyme disease however, found out that I carried three of the parasites that came from the tick. The most serious being Bartonella. If you would please do a video on this. It's been horrible trying to get rid of it

Great post/Something for everyone on this channel!
Every Saturday night take a good bath whether you need one or not and check 4 ticks!
They are the most offensive uninvited little beggars on earth.
Been around them all my life without a health issue/ but often for a couple of days
after I pull one that spot sure do itch! btw there's nothing more satisfying than raising you some chickens
growing fresh heirloom tomatoes n peppers, Okra, kale some greens and Mississippi purple hull peas!

I must counter some information here. I had tick nymph bite me. I removed it in less than 8 hours . It was not fully engorged and I got the bullseye rash within 4 days and tested positive for Lyme and Babesia.
