The past couple weeks, CCR is all I've been listening to! Cosmo's Factory is definitely my favorite album. It's so good, that it sounds like a greatest hits compilation. "Ramble Tamble" is my favorite track on the album. The long jam in the middle reminds me of Neil Young's "Down By The River", with the funky guitar licks. Speaking of Neil, I'd love to see you review anything by him from the 70's! :)

Cosmo’s Factory is my favorite CCR album. Up Around The Bend is one of my top five CCR songs. It’s hard to pick one. Great review 👍

My fav CCR album too! Been listening to it for about 45 years now. Used to lie on the floor in front of my parents' big stereo piece of furniture thingy and listen to this over and over. Still have the original vinyl from back then too, plus the CD. I do like Run Thru the Jungle. Grapevine does drag on a bit. Long As I Can See is the only tune I don't particularly care for. Bayou is pronounced Bi-you. As in the swamps of Louisiana, etc. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Larry, John Fogerty still astounds me. He's definitely in my top 10 singer/songwriters of all time.I've had the good fortune to see John play live several times. In my opinion, he has one of the best ears for a basic 4 piece vocal/sound.           GO JOHN FOGERTY I say!                 GAZ

Amazing album by CCR and definetly my favorite by them. I love Looking Out My Back Door, Ramble Tamble but probably my all time favorite is Travellin Band, it rocks, i love John's vocals on that one, just incredible. That is also the very first song i've ever heard by Creedence Clearwater Revival. I give the album a 10 out of 10.

Great review, Larry. I love CCR and especially the songs on this album. Also, I'm glad you didn't allow yourself to get discouraged over saying "high-quality entertainment."
If you get time, maybe you could review a classic Dylan album? Highway 61 Revisited or Blonde on Blonde?

I LOVE that album it's my favorite CCR album. My favorite song the album is Looing Out My Back Door, and my dad also didn't like Run Through The Jungle when it came out, but I love it.

One of my all time favorite albums. Great review as always. I am very curious about your thoughts on the often maligned final album Mardi Gras.

and bayou is pronounced buy-you atleast in the south where the bayou is, but some people say bay-you as well

Not a CCR fan but what I heard from half of the album, the songs are great. Looking Out my backdoor, Who will stop the rain, I heard it through the grapevine, and Traveling Band. Good songs. I might actually listen to the album. CCR are one of those bands I hear a lot on the radio but just never digged into their catalog....

I think you pronounced "bayou" correctly. You can hear John sing it like that in "Born on the Bayou".

I'm surprised you loved Ramble Tamble but thought Grapevine went on too long. I'd give Grapevine 11 out of 10. The long instrumental is brilliant. I'd flip the ratings for Ooby Dooby and Run Through the Jungle. RTtJ is an absolute classic; I think I recall an interview with Tom Fogerty where he said it was his favorite CCR song. Ooby Dooby is performed well, of course, but it's just not a great song in the first place, so there's only so much you can do with it.
