you know what i love about all of your videos? is that ... not all of your plants are "perfect" and i observe that you just accept that you cant keep every single plant in tip-top shape! and that makes me feel better about my plants, especially my Maranta.

Just to let you know you’re the best plant channel on YouTube by far.

One of my first houseplants, back in the late ‘70s. It actually thrived in a dark family room under air conditioning in bone dry Phoenix, being given hard tap water. Some browning occasionally on the edges, but no worse than what you see there.

I can’t remember what happened to it. I might have given it away when I left town circa 1995.

I’ve thought about buying another for my bathroom in my current apartment, where it would likely thrive.

My prayer plant is easily one of my favorites, over all the rare and trendy ones, it’s stunning, grows like crazy, and gave me a wee flower this week.

When they are happy they flower. Small inconspicuous white flowers with lavender throats. Many years ago I cared for my 3rd grade teacher's prayer plant over the summer. Happily I returned it to her in the fall looking fabulous. One of my sentimental favs. 😀

I have Maranta leuconeura var. Fascinator, it does amazingly well in my bathroom, nicely humid. I don't water it that often and usually with tap water.

Yes, this can be a little more fussy of a plant, but I have the lemon lime maranta and the pink maranta and as long as I mist them and don't give them direct light and water with filtered water they seem to be pretty happy. I do love how their leaves fold up at night and open during the day, they are just a neat plant. Thank you Summer, I really love this series.

My favorite plant! I have one in my bay window in the living room and another variety on my coffee table in front of the bay window.

Found 2 of these for 3 bucks each at Walmart last night, shockingly. Wasn't properly labeled. I have had decent luck with prayer plants so far, hanging they are just gorgeous. Mine aren't that high maintenance, maybe due to well water? I love how these have a grayish cool tingue to the leaves! And their leaves are wider than my other marantas. I put the 2 little pots in a pretty white wicker basket.

Finally, a video that shows reality: tip brown leaves lol. Thanks for being real. I just bought baby prayer plants. I hope it will last forever.

I live in S Florida and I have my non-variagated one in a south facing window. Although it does have some protection from outside palms and a white bird of paradise, I would still consider it in higher light. It's 2 ft off the floor and on the outside side of the window is a green island ficus hedge so it's kinda being an understory plant. The window is large and begins at 18" from the floor. Our well water draws from a limestone aquifer and I water with that. No brown or crisp. Its leaves are open all day and go straight up at night, which I think is the opposite of what you said? I agree with you- I love how it moves! Thank you Summer, I love these daily videos and get so happy when you talk about one I have! xoxo

I've never seen another variegated Maranta! I found one in a small town Wal-Mart. :)

I have this plant. I really appreciate your tips. I water with distilled and have moved it to a shadier location. Of all the Prayer Plants I have I find this one the most difficult to figure out when I see browning at the tips and sides.
