I love how Richter moves with purpose, you can just tell without any dialogue that he’s been waiting his entire life for the moment Dracula returned and immediately shifts into gear no hesitation

Gotta say, this is how you do an opening. Especially one where you're limited with full animation or even having voice acting.

Our hero slams his hand down in anger, his worst fears realized. He sees that Count Dracula is back from the dead, his ever-so infamous keep visible from his residence's window, and his minions are surely reaking havoc. So, he quickly gears up and moves out as fast as he can. Tine is of the essence.

Meanwhile, the scene at the village is chaos. Skeletons risen from the grave and reanimated for evil as foot soldiers. Giant soldiers of stone are decimating buildings and homes. And the people run about in fear, with one even tripping. It looks as though her time has come...

Except, arriving on the scene with no time to spare, is Richter Belmont. He quickly goes to work, his eyes ablaze with fury towards the evil he's witnessing. Skeleton after skeleton quickly falls to the Vampire Killer, it's speed and it's movement precise. But however, while they are but a reanimated collection of bones, these skeletons realize to surround the vampire hunter and take advantage of their large numbers.

Yet, it is all for naught. Eyes still ablaze with righteous fury, Richter calls upon power passed down throughout his prestigious bloodlines. With it, he invokes THE HOLY CROSS! With it's sacred power, it makes short work of the skeleton troopers surrounding the hero.

Saw that intro many years ago, played the game and it became one of my top 3 favorite games of all time.
