Sorry, Germany is not where you want to go if you want to make big money (try USA instead).

Those 10k are possible, but very rare and or only after 10+ years of experience (think of how many years a doctor has to study/residency).
By then, you might already have a family with kids. Even with €10k, after taxes and insurance, you are left with €5.7k. After family expenses and housing costs (€1-3k+ for a family), you will still have some money left and can lead a comfortable life, but you likely still can't afford eating out everyday.

And this is already the top 10% of society. Most people, even with engineering degrees, may not even reach that after 20 years of working (depending on industries). It doesn't mean they won't have a fulfilling life, but if you only care about maximizing your earnings, Germany is not the right place.

I work in IT here and I get only 2600 Netto. It's not spectacular by any means but it's above average. Which is honestly kind of sad. Who tf in their right mind wants to move here for a job?

Side note, working for a big company as a Junior (data) Engineer you can expect about 3200 Netto in the beginning so you can do the Brutto math.
