In this video safety play in pool. The pool tutorial discusses how to play safe or play for a snooker. We look at how to get a good position with the cue ball and tucking up behind one of your balls to make a really difficult snooker for your opponent to escape.
The shots are carried out on a 7ft UK 8 ball table

Another informative video. I do like to play an aggressive potting game so ideally for me I will try to develop my balls at the same time as laying the snooker so I can make full use of the 2 shots. I think when laying the snooker you have to think ahead as what would you will do with the 2 shots/ball in hand.

Another great video thanks for making and sharing it. My only comment is an observation that happened to me in a league game recently. I laid a total of a snooker on my opponent and control of the game swung to me. He smiled wryly and then tactically fouled and whilst giving me two shots he left me in a pretty unremarkable position on the table. My first visit back to the table was a bust because I cannoned off a ball and sunk the black. Game over. I’m looking forward to changing from World to Int rules because he wouldn’t be able to tactically foul without losing the frame.

Chasing a win is very dangerous towards yourself because potting more of your balls without being aware of clusters which can be more problematic on your last balls. That can cost YOU too much as you now making the game more easier, plus open for your opponent. Learn to adjust and sacrifice to attack those problematic balls ealier than later.

I like your comment of taking as much time as you would a regular shot vs just going up. I regularly play safe and just by law of odds, have messed up most ways you can even imagine. Babying the shot probably is my biggest culprit. Commit and shoot.

What if my only red ball is left and is tuck behind yellow ball .. can I hit the my opponent yellow to pot my red directly? As I have only one red left and whatever I play will be a foul
