Curious... Anyone else see Jack Reynor as a mix between Chris Pratt & Chris Hemsworth?

I have this slight feeling the interviewer didn't get this film at all

9:33 is when they start talking about his nude scene. You’re welcome.

people really think that she would go back to America after all of that? I kinda thought the point of the film was that she lost a family and then found a new one (where she is revered), she has nothing to go back to in America so why would she leave the idyllic if not fucked up community she's found (especially if this particular festival only happens every 90 years so it wouldn't be so traumatic every year) ://

The amount of contrast in emotional intelligence between his character and his actual self is so polarizing it’s kind of beautiful??? It’s lovely how self aware he is

So the interviewer doesn’t get the movie. Why is he laughing so much?
Also, he doesn’t think Christian was a bad guy, but thought Dani was annoying?

This whole time I thought that his eyes were augmented to be bigger in the movie for the sake of making the viewer feel like they were tripping. But no, the man has big beautiful eyes.

the interviewer really just said that the disturbing sexual scene that was literally like demeaning and insane to watch. probably super weird and personal for jack. and he kinda just disrespectfully laughed and said it was FUNNY. he obviously doesnt understand the film, and its just not being serious and, i can FEEL jacks uncomfortability.

the bad thing about Christian was that he totally plagiarized Josh's thesis idea, didn't give a shit about Josh's work leading up to the trip, and sold him completely under the bus when confronted about the stolen book...and when Dani told Christian that Simon ditched Connie, he did NOT give a shit.

Spoiler comment

As a preliminary matter, none of the characters “deserve” their fate, but Christian’s character is revealed throughout the movie. For me, Josh was not only watching the rituals, but also watching his unsuspecting friends watch the rituals, somewhat duplicitously. Christian clearly planned to ride on Josh’s coattails, and he not only betrayed Josh by telling him he was essentially stealing his thesis idea, he literally sold Josh out instantly when the “book theft” was alleged. That, to me, was where Christian’s duplicity, weakness, and treachery was revealed. Romantic relationships are one thing, and people do what they do when sex is involved, but he revealed himself to be a terrible friend...NOT a friend at all, actually. He used his “friends” selfishly to realize his own goals. He didn’t deserve his fate, but it made it easy to swallow in the narrative.

The “bad guys” are Pelle and Ingmar, but then again, they are dedicated to the commune/cult, and that was their guiding light. Did they use the victims any more than Christian used Josh, stealing his very livelihood? In the end, anthropology students should have known better. I knew they were doomed when the elders agreed to let them write about the festival. They should have realized it themselves, but like Elsa in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”, they couldn’t even let go of the grail and try to their own lives.

And the sex scene was " hilarious"? Maybe for someone 12 years old. This guy is like a kid.

I can see interviews of this guy all day long, he is gorgeous to look at, funny, intelligent and appears to be a genuine nice guy to have a meaningful conversation. And those eyes.... Hopefully his career goes in the up resulting from this movie.

Groundbreaking when gay poindexter here says he thought Dani was really annoying for calling her boyfriend when she’s upset. Misogyny is engrained in all of us.

I have to say, I've seen Jack having to deal with some pretty dreadful and uninspired interviewers - and this is one of them - but he still manages to make it into an insightful conversation. I love the perspective about how Christian met this humiliating fate and lack of control that is usually reserved to the female character (including the nudity!).

"What is so bad about [Christian]?" the interviewer asks. Are you kidding me....?

I agree completely with him saying that Hollywood should stop releasing sequels. It's completely the opposite of what films were always meant to be.
