I mostly organize books by topic or category like literary fiction, LGBTQIA+ books, literary criticism, essays, memoir, etc as well as a shelf in another room of "books from loved ones who read" and a bookcase that's just educational pedagogy and practice books for work

They look great. It’s cool to see a more minimalistic shelf from a book-lover. And wrong all of the non-book related items was lovely as well!

I typically organize mine by genre. And author within genre. And then have a separate section for favorite books or authors!

I organize my shelves by genre! Eventually I would like to get nicer shelves and be able to do something more ~aesthetic~ with my books, but for now it's all very functional

My shelf is a bit of a mess.. 😆 besides the top shelf (which is all Cassandra Clare) they’re a mix of organized by favourite and organized by what looks good/ author.

I organise myself shelves by however they fit. 😂 but planning to get some new shelving and will probably go straight alphabetically for organisation, no genre separation, when I get them.
