Not a professional here, but this sounds like it would change the angle of the tile slightly as well as decrease the area it touches on the other tile. Wouldn't that reduce the strength of the tile when someone steps on it (on the parts that don't have air pockets beneath them, of course)... Cause it won't sit flush with the tile beneath it? May not be a problem with all tiles, but it certainly is a problem with tiles where a manufacturer recommends tiles sitting flush against each other (fiber cement).

I would also think about what is the lifespan of that sealant and what happens if you need to replace a single tile.

Please note tiles placed are at higher gradient. automatically the water will not enter. This is a second line of protection.(surface tension)
