You know vitiligo is so close to my heart. My Mother had vitiligo. She was teased and called a dalmatian all of her life. She bleached, wore makeup, and etc to cover it up. I never knew about it until I was like 7 and she woke up late and I saw her. She coveted her face trying to tell me "not to look at Mommy right now." When I replied, "Mom, you're still beautiful, " she instantly starting crying. She cited me as her main inspiration for having the courage to go in public without covering up her vitiligo. People with vitiligo, need more role models. I wish the people with vitiligo would understand how beautiful they truly are.

My grandmother has this same condition. And seeing this hits home because even as an older woman, I hate seeing my grandmother trying to cover herself completely. My grandmother refuses to wear short sleeves. It will literally be 90 degrees outside and she will wear long sleeve shirts because she's so self conscious of her white skin patches. And it breaks my heart because my grandmother is the most beautiful woman ever ❤️ I wish she had the confidence these women have. I wish there weren't so many bullies in this world that bully people over medical conditions they can't help. I have alopecia and get bullied for that all the time.
