Anglo American rejects BHP’s increased $73.9b takeover offer

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says BHP wants to be the “biggest in the world” in copper.

BHP has increased its takeover bid for the South African mining giant Anglo American by around $10 billion, but that offer has been again rejected.

Mr Greenwood said BHP wants to be a world leader in both copper and iron ore.

“You would imagine that those Anglo American shares will become stronger simply because of this increased offer,” Mr Greenwood said.
