Is the "high run" some sort of side bet? Eckert starts with a perfect break shot with 0-0 on the score sheet. The commentators start with "welcome back" as if something's already happened, but this isn't in the middle of any match.

its not an actual match. Its individual contest like a break n run contest.

He is more of a snooker player. His shot making is very good but his pattern recognition, shot selection and positioning a key and break ball early in the rack are very poor. He often has his last balls scattered over the table with and turns the cue ball loose. A good straight pool player makes the game look easy when playing. Against a very good player he would not last long. If this was the high run in the Derby i should have entered. Just the facts, The days I was on when I played 14.1 every day it seemed I just held the cue and was along for the ride in that I solved my problems early and pocked a vast majority of the balls in the top corner pockets. 14.1 is not a game of long shots or leaving balls scattered over the table when the rack is coming to a close. Turning the cue ball loose is not the way to correctly play this game, which is the most difficult in pocket billiards.
