Great solution. I do lots of paining my advice would be to use masking tape on the tire and rim above and below the sanding area.

Wow! I’m impressed!! I just got my first curb rash on my 22 GT today.. only 20, 000 kilometres 😭 It was worth it though.. my dad had to go to the hospital and he comes first.. (he is ok by the way) I’m gonna give this a shot later on in the week.. looks like a great and
easy fix! Luckily the part of the wheel that got curbed was silver… the black part never got any damage. It shouldn’t be too hard… it’s machined silver for me so I assume sanding it down and then maybe adding some clear coat may help? Might be easier I don’t need to paint it.

I have a stupid question: why does Tesla make the wheels that are highly susceptible to curb rash? Why don't they simply change the design of the wheels?
