Charles Babbage: The Father of the Computer

Charles Babbage was a brilliant mathematician and inventor who is credited with being the father of the computer. He designed two mechanical machines, the Analytical Engine and the Difference Engine, which are considered to be the first general-purpose computers. Babbage's machines were never built in his lifetime, but his designs were very influential and helped to pave the way for the development of modern computers.
