Conway Twitty was 59 here and looks and sounds fit and healthy. He died shortly after. Gone too soon and we miss him. Thanks for posting.

You can literally see this man put everything he has into singing this song. Such a classic by one of my favorite country singers of all time. They don't make music like this anymore.

I am 70 years of age and have heard a great many excellent " Covers " of this great song.I have heard Conway sing this throughout his singing Career and have to say that he sang it better, as he grew older. Some songs are made to cover and some artists do it better than was done originally but, This was a " Signature song " and no-one, nobody did, or could, do it better than the great Conway Twitty ! This was a breath taking Vocal delivery ! db

Several months before Conway passed away, my brother and I met him at a local grocery store in Hendersonville, TN. Although it was the middle of the night, Conway was holding a hand basket and picking up milk and other items. As we were checking out, we noticed Conway standing right next to us. As we patiently waited (he knew we were wanting his autograph), he kindly smiled and signed! I told my brother now that is a celebrity with class! I'll never forget that moment!

He started as a rock singer with this song, but went to country music which he preferred. I used to laugh at my neighbor because she loved him. Boy, was I wrong. I love his stuff now.
