It's so interesting that you never see any anti-Assad protests from all these people that claim to care so much about the poor and downtrodden.

Nadav describing Hermon as "Spend 4 hours in a traffic jam to stand in a bit of snow and then go back home" was PRECISELY my experience when I was little. 😃

Thank you (again!) Dan! Another brilliant episode. Nadav explained the situation in Syria so well, so clearly and in just such an interesting manner. Love the podcast, Dan (however the new graphics look!!)

Looking back at the recent timeline of Israel's decapitation of Hezbolla, and the consequent "cease fire" - I cannot but wonder if there was some behind the scenes agreement with Türkiye that the time was right to topple Assad.
Both Israel & Türkiye would appear to have the most to gain from this major geopolitical realignment.

I would like to address a query to Nadav Eyal or anyone else 'in the know' as to whether there is any discussion underway either openly or otherwise regarding plans to retrieve the body of Eli Cohen and return it to his family in Israel for burial - assuming it is known where he is buried in Syria ?

I humbly suggest that Nadav has ignored the massive contribution that the Russian influence or lack thereof, had on the outcome of events.

I listened to the first 10 mins and not one mention of Russia's role in Syria. Moving on to another podcast...
