Welcome to XeMODeX. Today we're featuring a step-by-step tutorial on how to safely remove your Instrument Cluster / DIM from your Volvo S60, V70, S80, XC70, XC90, etc.

Note: for customers with S80 or XC90, there are two extra screws on the DIM surround trim that require removal before proceeding to extract the cluster from the vehicle.

Wow...I did NOT think it would be that easy to remove the gauge cluster.
Thanks for the very well made guide!

Just installed a xemodex pre programmed instrument cluster for my 2004 xc70. The installation process was simple and the cluster so far as been working amazing. Finally I can see how much gas I have!

I just installed one of your DIMs in my 2003 S60 T5 and it was so easy! As soon as I turned the key it sprang to life and acquired the mileage. I do have the SRS warning message, but I have a Dice unit and a laptop that I can use to reset it. Great product that saved me at least $1k over a new unit from the stealership.

I have spots on the plexiglass screen covering the instrument cluster. I have C70. I tried speaking the outside of the screen but they won't come off. Could it be on the inside of the screen? How could I remove just the screen and clean it?

For those who focused on battery terminal removal, did you remove just the negative cable or both?

Hi XeMODex.
Thanks for a great instructive video.
Can I just ask why do you not recommend driving the vehicle without the module in place ?
I have a sat nav to show my speed whilst it will be repaired.

Great video! It looks like replacing the transparent cover on the binnacle is also straightforward, mine is dusty or has hairline cracks, it all seems to be on the inside. Would this be the same basic procedure on a 2010 XC90 3.2?

What if you wanted to repair the DIM yourself and not buy a new one or send it to get repaired. How would you go about it?
