Who Truly Deserves the Title of the Chosen One in Star Wars?

As Darth Maul lay dying on Tatooine, he asked Obi-Wan Kenobi if the person he was protecting was the Chosen One. Without hesitation, Kenobi confirmed that he was. He believed Luke Skywalker, not Anakin, was the true savior destined to bring balance to the Force.

Yet for the Jedi Order, and most fans, the prophecy has long been tied to Anakin Skywalker. Born of the Force, he had unmatched potential but fell to the dark side. In the end, he destroyed Emperor Palpatine and himself, seemingly fulfilling the prophecy. However, in Dark Empire, Palpatine returned in clone bodies.

This time, Luke, Leia, Han Solo and Jedi Knight Empatojayos Brand stopped him, with Brand sacrificing himself to trap Palpatine’s spirit forever—suggesting Anakin had not truly ended the Sith.

In canon, Palpatine returned once more, but neither Luke nor Anakin struck him down. Instead, it was Rey who delivered the final blow, making her, for better or worse, the one with the strongest claim to being the Chosen One.

During the Clone Wars Mortis arc, the Father literally proclaims Anakin to be the Chosen One. Doesn't get more definitive than that.

I accept the fact that the sequels exist, but Anankin is the chosen one. Palpatine came back with science, a field outside of the Force. There's nothing anyone could've done to prevent that, and Anakin ended Palpatine's life, even if he came back. I hope that makes sense.

None of them, I believe the prophecy spoke of introducing the journey of the chosen one, but that journey is not of that individual, that person just sparks the beginning of the journey. And that journey of the actual chosen one is Obi Wan, not Anakin.

George Lucas litteraly said in an interview:
"When you watch the movies from 1-6, you'll get the true story. That Anakin is the chosen one, even when he becomes Darth Vader he is still the chosen one. Darth Vader does become the hero in the end he does destroy the sith that being him and the emperor."
Luke out of all 3 has the least claim to be the chosen one even if Obi Wan said it in Rebebls Luke didn't really have any attachment to the prophecy. As for the claim that Rey is the chosen one because she killed Palpatine I don't agree with that. I mean first of all the Prophecy said destroy the sith that doesn't mean the sith can't return they can rebuild. Because you can bring balance to the force but it will be unbalanced later you can't expect that nobody will ever use the darkside again. But Anakin has the most claim to be the chosen one because George Lucas said it, The father proclaimed it in the mortis arc of the clone wars, he had the highest midichlorian count ever, he was litteraly conceived by the midichlorians and the force (I know there's comics and fanfics about Palpatine manipulating the force to conceive Anakin but those ain't canon even if it was an original Idea Lucas had. In the most canon novelization of the phantom menace Palpatine had no idea of Anakin's excistence till he met him.) and he destroys the sith including himself for a time. They do return later. And by the idea that Windu and Yoda started talking about the prophecy when all Qui Gon said was Anakin looked to be conceived by midichlorians makes it seem like the chosen ones father is meant to be the force which Rey's wasn't he was a palpatine clone.
