I wish I had seen this sooner. I bought the new SE ($549 for 256 GB) but just returned it today. I found a refurbished 8+ in mint condition (256 GB with 100% battery life) for $399!

I've seen so many of these non sence videos about iphone se that I'm sick of it. anyone that bought 8 plus over 8 wanted a bigger phone so why would they upgrade to something that is a downgrade for them

The 8 Plus is so timeless and iconic that if Apple released it right now, with nothing but a newer cpu, it would cannibalize half their phone lineup.

One thing you forgot to mention - which is a game changer - the ability to use an eSIM on the SE, and free up the nano-SIM slot - this allows the SE to be dual SIM essentially - especially useful for people who travel - this, the size and the slightly better camera (thanks to Smart HDR) photos whilst still retaining Touch ID makes it my next iPhone at this price-point

The 8 plus was future-proofed performance wise. I don’t think any Android flagship from 2017 would perform the same 3 years later

I just got the iPhone SE 2nd gen as a backup phone for when I’m in rural areas, as it is compatible with the newer 600Mhz frequency on the T-Mobile network, giving it access to 4 out of the 5 bands (not 5G compatible) and should have better signal reception, vs the iPhone 8 Plus which is not compatible with the 600Mhz frequency and only gives you access to 3 out of the 5 bands on the T-Mobile network.

I’ll be testing it out soon to see how well it does! 🤞🏼
