THE BLOODIED SWORD (INSTRUMENTAL MIX)

Показать описание
NON SUPPORTER OF THE ULTRAVOX UNOFFICIAL REGIME!
I am not a professional remixer, DJ or technician. I'm just a fan who does these mixes out of my love and respect of the band and to bring something a bit different to other fans. With this in mind I hope you enjoy my efforts, subscribe to the channel and, most importantly, support the band and its members.
Released in April 1983 "The Bloodied Sword" is a particularly unusual body of work. Certainly not what you'd expect from Midge Ure and Chris Cross who composed the piece and, along with Kenny Hyslop on percussion, performed all the music on this project.
Midge Ure had partnered with poet Maxwell Langdown, who was the voice of the project, as early as 1979. Langdown's spoken word passages were recorded at Rockstar Studios (1979 - 1980), Trident Studios (1980 - 1981) and Mayfair Studios (1981 - 1983). Ure and Cross recorded the music between 1981 and 1982 whilst on breaks from Ultravox and other projects.
About the quality of this upload. "The Bloodied Sword" has never been issued on CD. Only on vinyl and Cassette. So finding a perfectly clean version to work with is impossible. Hence there is the odd click and crackle here and there. But I have widened the stereo width and removed the excess noise from the section on side 1 between 12:57 and 14:38. Here there are silent passages and the background noise was very noticeable.
An unusual project for me to undertake as I'm not overly familiar with the recording. But many people over various groups have mentioned that they'd like to hear TBS as an instrumental work, so here it is.
Enjoy!
