The save folder in GarlicOS has CHANGED. It is now on the same card or drive as your ROMS. ROMS - Saves - Current Profile. The saves need to be in a folder named the same as the emulator they run on in RetroArch and inside that current profile folder.

You're a live saver man, lost my hope on my dead Anbernic and was going on a long road trip without it, and at the right time your video showed up. Respect!

My SD card slot 2 stopped working. Following your guide I managed to turn the slot 2 256GB card into a bootable one, which now lives in slot 1, making it possible to use 1 sd card for both OS and games. Life saver, 🙏 thank you!

Thank you for this. I too have no save ability on the default card. I am new to doing this, so this tutorial is a major help. 👍👍

The same exact thing has been happening to my 35xx since the second day i got it. I recently got the anbernic SP. Ive been eager to transfer my games and saves to the new SP because i prefer the SP system but i dont have all my old saves and i dont have as many games on the SP, but I am scared to do that to have the same thing happen to my new SP. Havent found a video to help me with this yet since im kind of new to using a PC and everything that seems like it should be easy looks too complicated for me lol. But this tutorial seems very helpful and very specific to my same situation, will definitely study this and give it a shot. Thanks!

do you have a step by step video on how to flash the RG353V OS/ROM to a new card? or how to backup drives/data/ROMS in the Anbernics' card to a new card? I'm brand new to this and just got the RG353V. There are 2 OS files for the RG353V, so was not sure how to add the two files onto one the new card. Thank you!

Cant get my rg35xx to boot to the stock os on my 256gb micro-sd card. I followed all the steps up until the 7:34 mark. Only thing I could see as being an issue is that the download for the stock os from the Anbernic website was different. Its not the end of the world but its very frustrating lol

Hi, I have a question, recently I bought a RG505, I thought I bought it with the SD card on it, but I don't. So now my trying to make my own, but I don't know how. I could use this system you show to do it?

I'm just, quite lost. I don't know if I have to instal some system on the Anbernic, or on the SD. I don't know how can I find it...

Thanks for the help =)

Can you put both cards in at the same time and we did choose between both different operating systems or do you have to switch them out manually?

i just to clarify this question. what if i have a 2nd sd card which is new, i formatted it to fat32, do i still need the other folders from the first sd card? or could i just create a new ROMS folder on the newly formatted sd card?

It took me awhile to figure this out but on the stockOS and SD card when you put that in a computer and open the ROMs partition the saves are actually not in the individual console folders. In the main list of console folders there is another folder called saves. Then when you open that there is a list of consoles. and within that are your save files that show up in the 5 saves lots on the stock OS. In the main game directory of folders it is true that there are .sav files that appear next to the Rom in the files list but I dont know what they are. I have some for games I never really played but maybe I just opened them. In the one game I have been playing the .sav file in the main directory for me had a time stamp that just didnt match my most recent save. It wasn't until I found this other folder that I found my save. I also notice it is a .0svs file. So I am crossing my fingers I can carry that over to Garlic OS.

At first, I had trouble getting everything to work with Garlic OS. I had to rename the PS1 folder to PS. I may have had to rename other folders as well.

I discovered on the PS games that I had to move all the files out of the folders they were in. But then Garlic OS reported no games in the PS folder. I tried moving some jpg files to the images subfolder and removing some special characters from file names. Finally, Garlic OS was able to see all the PS games. All the RG35xx PS games in the 64gig distribution seem to work except for Suikoden II. For some games, I had to turn on "integer scaling" and get a copy of the PS1 BIOS for them to run at full speed. I couldn't find any BIOS files on the original RG35xx SD card.

Not all arcade games I have tried work. I am trying to see what I can do about that. Is it possible to change emulators? I also had some problems with the CPS stuff.

I want to run some Sinclair Spectrum games, but some of these games require keyboard input to start. Not sure what to do about that.

I think that Garlic OS user interface could be a little more user-friendly. I would like to have sub-folders. If a game distribution has 4 files then it will list all 4 files in the menu, and only one of them will work. It would be nice to be able to zip up PS games, although I don't know if there is enough system memory for that to work.

I would like to run PSP games, but the system might not be able to handle it. I saw that another OS was running PSP games with difficulty.
