Hey everyone my name is Daniel Woodcock.

In this video we're going to go through a brief overview of the CommSec Pocket app, what it offers and see if it's the right app for you.

I use the CommSec Pocket app myself and it is what I would recommend for those investing in smaller amounts as it's very easy to set up and very easy to use. Also if you're interested in learning about finance and investing I upload videos every week so please click that subscribe button to stay up to date.

Now here's why you're all here, the CommSec Pocket app. This app offers a selection of seven different ETFs which stands for Exchange Traded Funds.

Now an ETF is a collection of stocks or securities tracking an underlying fund such as the ASX 200 or the NASDAQ 100, both of which are featured in the app.

So now I'm going to go through the 7 ETFs available on the app and also I'll go through it on my phone for visual assistance i'll put up on the screen just right there. Yeah, here we go.

First up is the Aussie top 200 as name suggests is the top 200 companies listed on the ASX, the next one we have is Aussie dividends which as the name suggests again is the top companies that pay the highest dividends available in Australia, then after that we have the Global 100 which as the name suggests again is the top 100 companies across the globe, after that we have Emerging Markets now this is countries like China, India, Emerging markets in South America some in Africa, and this is diversified over 800 individual companies, next up we have Health Wise this is a collection of 100 companies that invest in the medical market, the next up on the list we have Sustainability Leaders this is a collection of 200 leading sustainable companies and then finally we have Tech Savvy, now Tech Savvy is the top 100 companies listed on the NASDAQ which is great if you see a future in technology.

Now the app does list the fees and the returns and dividends etc about each individual ETF it holds. So I've created a spreadsheet with all this information available to download in the link below. Hopefully this makes it easier for you to understand the fees and the returns you can expect for each ETF and also to help you decide whether this app is suitable for you and your financial goals.

Now i'd like to share a couple of examples of a diversified portfolio which you can create using the Commsec Pocket app. I'll put them up on the screen now, so the first example you would have the Aussie Top 200 at 40 percent, then you would have Emerging Markets at 20 percent and then you would have Tech Savvy which is 40 percent .The reason for these ETFs I've chose is it just has all-round diversification, it covers the whole world, emerging markets which will be big in the future and the top 200 companies in Australia which pay fairly good dividend to be honest and also I would see the future as tech focus so i would choose Tech Savvy which is the top 200 companies listed on the NASDAQ.

And in the second example I would have 40 percent Health Wise, 40 percent Sustainability Leaders and 20 percent Global 100. This will be for more ethically focused investors with the Global 100 to give additional diversification.

Now I have mentioned diversification in this video a few times already and it's something your portfolio should aim to achieve. You should invest in different markets and asset classes to reduce the risk on your portfolio. The world changes over time and markets that are in demand now may not be in demand in 10 or 20 years.

So for those new to investing I would recommend this app, I use it myself it's a very easy to use app and compared to the CommSec main platform the fees are really low to be honest.

If you were buying these ETFs on the main CommSec platform and you were investing less than fifteen thousand dollars you'd actually be paying more in fees using the main platform. So anything less than fifteen thousand dollars buying these ETFs the CommSec Pocket app comes out on top.

There are quite a few different apps you can use you have Raiz, you have Robinhood in America, there's Spaceship we have here in Australia. Please do check those ones out as well to see which app is best for your investment needs.

Also check out my other video which i'll do step-by-step instructions how to invest using the CommSec Pocket app so if you are looking to invest using this app please check it out. So that's it for this one guys i hope this video has helped you understand what the app offers, please leave a comment below for any suggestions on any other app people may want to look into.

If you're interested in learning more about finance and investing and if you enjoy the video please click that subscribe button to stay up to date. Anyway guys, thanks for watching and I'll see you on the next one.

Hey Daniel, just wandering when you’re ready to invest your money to an ETF, does the money automatically come out of your CDIA account or do you have to transfer money to your trading account to invest.
