The way to enjoy programming is to never encounter CI and linker errors

just now breaking out of only c# (and windows lol) and this has been a big tru for me. being able to now make my own backend stuff and basic websites was like learning hello world for the first time. and earlier today i copied a buncha files thru terminal without dealing with 2 file explorers and clickin a bunch. linux is freakin' magic.

We're all kids that love magic and as it starts becoming science for us, it becomes less magic.

This must be the ultimate best programming tip I've heard in half a decade of programming.

If you pick JS as your main language you can pick two or three frameworks instead of entirely different languages

Programming is fun, is just that other people make it unfunc to you.
The fun things about Programming is you can program fun things.

I have a few goto projects too for learning a new language, first tbigns I build when I want to learn a new language so I know what and how it should behave, all I need to learn are language specifics.

JavaScript hits different. There's always a new framework in the horizon.

Your hypothesis is that fun drops as productivity increases... Frankly that "does not hold water". Programming becomes less fun where your pleasure intersects with friction:
- nonsensical corporate style guides
- misguided or incompetent project managers
- ever changing priorities
- ever changing requirements
- everything is urgent
- agile, scrum, six sigma .... ugh
- the absolute worst is when "they" put systems like pep-8 evaluation systems into the build pipeline. For example single or double letter variable names are not evil but 40 char COBOL variables are better? Sorry not sorry.
- comment every line of code ... the real problem is the syntax. (read knuth)

The way these things go for normal people. 1. great excitement over something 2. you hit a problem 3. you google it for 2 weeks without success. 4. quit for a few months and then try something new. This cycle repeats forever.
