Having owned Ferraris and taken them to both official dealers and independent garages, I think the mistake here is two things happened at the same time: one, you modified the cars electronics. I’m not sure if you claimed otherwise, but this isn’t a trivial type of exhaust. It’s likely the whole system, including messing with sensors/electronics and their readings, touching the cats, etc.. The second issue is you’re out of your country. This means language barriers, confusing rules about where the issues occurred and therefore who should and shouldn’t service and cover the costs… It’s just messier. I think one or the other events would be fine, but I think with both happening at the same time, they’re just seeing your issue as a pain in the ass. So the easiest thing to do is say, “you touched the electronics and you have an electronic issue, that’s on you.” And as mad you are allowed to be at that, they’re not wrong. And if there’s one thing supercar ownership has taught me it’s if you can’t afford paying for all this shit out of pocket, don’t do it, because you might just have to. And personally, I find the cameras in their faces not helpful either. It’s Ferrari Monaco, not Honda in the boonies. They don’t need your marketing. If anything, they will be extra hesitant to do anything special for you because corporate can see it. I wouldn’t pound fists back either because I wouldn’t want to create that connection unless I really knew you and the situation when my bosses could be watching. I’m not shitting on Nico at all, I’m just speaking from my experience…

Dude shits on modifying a watch, then says "I didn't modify the car. I made it better." I love you buddy, but you can't really be too surprised that Ferrari voided your warranty.

If it's completely out of warranty then you could crate it back to England and get Mat to look at it for you. Would be a great collaboration. :)

As a technician for one of the major German Manufactures, I always tell a consumer to not modify the vehicle without checking the warranty. Things like this happen when an outside electronic gets installed, by a company that seems 100% reputable. The issue is the vehicle is completely new and odds are the installer does not understand the wiring of the vehicle and they tend to probe wires to "find" what wire to (Tap into, or cut into for power or ground). Then you have over heating wires and other modules cutting short because of high resistance, or short. Anyways best of luck, hopefully someone can help you out Nico. I've got my fingers crossed, much luck to you Brother.

Expensive mistake. Kind of like putting diamonds in your watch lmao.

I thought it was common knowledge that you don't put on aftermarket items on a brand new car unless you just don't care about your warranty

In the US they have to prove the modification contributed to the failure in order to legally invalidate the warranty.

An incredible video on everything not to do to a new Ferrari. Besides the aftermarket exhaust system, I think the 10, 000 RPM donuts in the parking lot did not help.

If someone got a new Rolex and went and iced it out and it broke because the jewler fucked it up, Nico would be the first person making a video on how this isnt Rolex's fault and mocking the owner. Just saying.

Everyone knows how strict Ferrari is and you shouldn't mess with it until the warranty runs out, I feel really bad for you and I hope you get it fixed without to much trouble but this will probably be an expensive learning experience.

You’d imagine that Nico would have checked with Ferrari before modding, on what happens with the warranty. No? Feel really bad for Nico

I think Nico isn't aware that a brand new exhaust system, needs the engine to be "remapped", aka work on the main cpu and electronics.
Had you done just the mufflers I don't think they would have been able to void a thing, but airflow and gear chart adjustments definitely have all to do with the electronics of your beautiful machine.
P.s. I agree with other comments, all that videoing "right in your face" isn't appreciated at Ferrari... I get it, it's what you do, but if you really wanna take care of this issue, there's a time and place for everything.

I love how Nico reverts to his normal Hublot hating self when he sees the Hublot wall clock! He forgets the car and his attention is grabbed by the unacceptable thing on the wall! Legend!

This is a known issue with new Ferraris and Novitec. The bypass plug unit doesn’t always work.

Nico: "I farted while driving the car" Ferrari: "That must be the problem, it's not original"

Ferrari are totally spot on! What have novitech said about it? Can't be great for their work to cause the ECU to fry within a few weeks (nevermind the manner of driving)
