As weird as it sounds, I think he may actually enjoy his time in prison. He’s got pseudo celebrity status. It’s the first time in his life he can live by secular rules. He doesn’t have to support Anna and the kids or do any work (unless he wants to). He gets Jim Bob to give him commissary cash each month. I think he’ll actually like it the way college students enjoy dorm life. He’s sick and he’s where he belongs, I just wish it wasn’t so damn cushy. He needs some time in a hard labor camp in Siberia or North Korea.

The prison dispenses razors, and they are collected shortly after by the guards. Razors are contraband and not sold in the commissary.

Josh let himself go as soon as he got married. When the series followed Josh and Anna as newlyweds, he commented that he gained 12lbs by the end of the honeymoon. He used to do a lot of yard and building with his brothers but turned into a slob as soon as he had snared Anna. He knows she can't leave him. The commissary honey buns will accelerate the process.
