Should Prisoners Be Prioritised When It Comes to Getting a Home?

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said some prisoners might need to “jump in the queue" when it comes to housing to stop them reoffending”. More than 8 thousand people released from prison go directly to rough sleeping upon release.

So should prisoners be prioritised when it comes to getting a home?

No they should not be prioratised, however there needs to be adequate housing for everyone. When they come out, put them to work, give them a basic roof (a caravan). Make them work for housing like everyone else. Too many people think the state owes them. Go out and work an honest job and pay for your own living

I really don’t know if I can hate that sadistic khan anymore then I do right now … my kids were born in a council property but they themselves cannot get council housing instead pay a fortune to rent.. why does some scummy criminal get a house over them or an illegal… I’m sick of this country pandering to everyone above their own ..

We have an issue full stop by giving cheap or free housing to people who can’t be bothered to work and generation after generation leaching off the government. Prisoners will struggle to get jobs due to their records, for whatever reason (circumstantial or other) they will likely return to crime without support to reintegrate into society. Wether you like it or not housing is a part of that.
