The service manual has the trou-ble shooting sequences and the fault codes. The manual has the wiring diagrams, torque values, lubricant specs, and nomenclature. I have mine and use it.

I don’t need the Service Manual. I have your videos and that’s as deep as I intend to go. Bought a used Service Manual for an earlier Wing and found I used very little of it.

I listened to everybody on a forum and I bought the service manual. Absolutely a waste of my time and money. After I bought Cruiser man's video and Fred Harmon's video there's nothing that I can't figure out when it comes to adding accessories or maintenance on the motorcycle. So glad I did and I really needed it.

I just bought the videos and I can tell you they’re worth every penny. They are extremely well done.

Such truth being spoken here. Especially the part about m/c techs not knowing how to work on our 2018+.

The example Chris is talking about, with the dash, happened at my dealer while they were doing warranty work on my steering stem. I got the bike back, and noticed the control dash was loose at the top. The tech probably looked at the manual, and forced the loop off the snap. They replaced the part on their dime, and it wasn't cheap.

I bought the manual when I got me 2018 Goldwing and I agree, it isn't all that helpful for basic maintenance. It does make for interesting reading though as I enjoy learning about the bikes I ride.

I agree with CM on this one. I bought the manual and I use it. I tore the manual apart and divided it into chapters. I bought a 4” or 5” binder and put the manual back together in the binder with labels. When I use it, I take the associated chapter out of the binder and use it. The manual is so big, bulky and hard to keep on a single page, I’ve found the binder is the only way to go. I recommend buying CM and Fred Harmon’s maintenance videos. I refer to the videos more than I do the manual. Buy’m...they’re worth every penny.

I like to do as much maintenance on my bike as I can. The frustration I have is the poor directions included when buying and installing accessories. I always prefer watching someone perform the installing then someone trying to explain how to do it on a piece of paper. The Cruiseman videos do exactly that. I have a 10" high stack of manuals for various vehicles I have owned but never use them because YouTube and guys like Cruiseman give me what I need. Thank you Cruisman for the extensive amount of time you have spent making those videos which saves me time on my end.

I bought Cruisemans repair videos. It is well worth the money he shows you how to do the repairs step-by-step and even shows you what tools you will need to do the job and where to get them. It Will save you hundreds to thousands of dollars. Great for the Average Joe, . He has even broken lil things on his bike trying to show us how to do it right without breaking them on our bikes. Thanks, Cruiseman. The Honda company should give you a job on repairs and accessories for the Honda Goldwing motorcycles. Too bad the Honda company doesn't help the little guy as you do. Thanks again for all you do Cruiseman.

I have the Honda factory service manual and electrical troubleshooting manual. After looking through the section on replacing or servicing the front fork springs/internals and other items associated with the suspension, I agree with Chris, the manual is written for an experienced mechanic. The language and order of doing things weren't at my level of mechanical ability in many instances. I concluded I could probably change out the front fork springs, but that is as far I would go with the forks, I'll hire a qualified suspension mechanic otherwise. I was fortunate to get the factory manual for free because it came with the used 08 Goldwing I bought. I'll be looking at Chris's video series because I've watched some of his work and he presents understandable instructions and quality videos as an added learning tool.

Great advice. I’m getting ready to buy a 2021, DCT/Airbag. I don’t plan to work on my bike, but I recall bringing my police motorcycle to a dealership, and they screwed it all up. Thanks for jogging my memory on that matter. So, I will look for a specialty shop that repairs gold wings rather than going to the dealership. Thanks again. 👮🏻‍♂️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I have the Servive Manual and your videos. I refer to the videos way more than the service manual and I use to work in the service department at a Honda dealership back in the 70's

I bought the Honda Service Manual for my 2018 Tour DCT. At that time Helm was sold out of them and I had to wait several months because they were then in the process of making the 2018 - 2019 manual, and I ended up getting that. I would buy the factory manual for all my motorcycles. They give you all the specs you need. I also have the maintenance videos. I like at the beginning of each video it tells what tools are needed for the job, and if any other videos need to be watched before in order to get to the area I am working on. I too have had problems at the dealer and I don't take it there anymore, unless some warranty work needs to be done on it, because they just don't know what they are doing. Thanks for the video.

As you said, lots of guys do not read the booklet and that is a shame. My dad always said to me, you must read the booklet when you get a bike at list 3 times from start to end. 1st, you read it while you are tired. 2nd, you read it while you are not in the mood. 3rd, you read it cause now you know what they are saying. Even if you want this book, none out there. You videos are clearly great.

I ride an Africa Twin and I like to watch your YouTube videos, I have the Honda service manual for the AT and you are correct it will say remove the side panels- but not detail how to do it. I had to go look at parts pictures and try to see how it came apart so I didn’t break anything. Keep up the good work Cruiseman! Cheers from Montana 👍

I hear you Cruiseman: I took my 2018 GL1800 DCT/TOUR to a local dealership to repair my brake lights. Well, 97 days later I got it back, the brake lights were working, however, they did not reconnect my high mount LED brake/running/sequential turn signal light beneath my luggage rack. I took the bike apart after I got it home to hook up the high mount light on my trunk, only to find that the Pathfinder plug and play harnesses were not there. After calling the dealership about the missing harnesses, the services manager agreed to order replacements. To shorten this story, I received the replacement harnesses about 4 days later, installed them, powered my bike up, applied the brake, heard a pop and the brake lights quit working! I checked the circuit breaker, found it had blown just like it did before I took it in for that same problem!!! Meanwhile, I removed all the cowling to troubleshoot, only to find a hodgepodge assortment of fasteners, different from the oem fasteners had been installed in various locations, some were not installed at all! I’m still in the process of troubleshooting. I finally found the correct schematic for the brake system in the Electrical Troubleshooting manual I bought and am hopeful that I’ll find the problem this upcoming week, wish me luck!!

Cruseman, I've got an 89 GW that I bought new, it has only 32, 000 miles on it but I've never changed the timing belts, flushed the brake system or flushed the rear end. I need to do this soon. Do you have maintenance videos on an 89, and the price if you do please. Thanks.
