A take on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest release of 'HEERAMANDI' by SUBHANGIK....

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest opus, Heeramandi, is a cinematic feast that intertwines beauty and complexity, drawing us into a world where aesthetics and artistry converge in an intoxicating dance. While body positivity is often associated with the female form, this film poignantly reveals how it equally shapes and shadows the lives of men, particularly those in the creative realm.

Artists, the torchbearers of beauty, expression and grace, frequently grapple with societal expectations. Too tall or too short, too heavy or too slight, too dark or too pale — each deviation from the 'ideal' becomes a silent struggle. Add to this the quirks of less hair, smaller eyes, or a crooked smile, and the challenges magnifies.
Heeramandi masterfully exposes these subtle tensions, inviting us to re-examine our perceptions of perfection.

As we immerse ourselves in the lush narratives and rich tapestries of Bhansali's vision, let us also embrace the diverse spectrum of human form. In this Pride Month, it is fitting to celebrate all body types, honoring the unique beauty that every individual brings to the canvas of life...

The love of the artist for their art is profound yet unseen, echoing the inseparable bond between the Atma (soul) and the Paramathma (Supreme Soul), often interpreted as Krishna. Just as the art and the artist are infused, Krishna's wisdom reveals the unity of the soul and the divine. This profound connection forms the essence of existence, guiding us toward our divine origin. In this union, we discover that true beauty and artistry transcends from the physical to the meta physical, resonating with the eternal dance.

If this is not art, I don't know what is. The layers, the expressions and every single person giving their 100% regardless of their placement in the frame ... this is exquisite.

I want to see a world like the choreography, where no wall of gender, partiality, color, or differences exists. Everyone in the dance needs to be praised. I liked the out of the box creation♡✨️

As a male devotee of Sri Krishna, it is difficult to find expressions of the type of love snd devotion we feel for him and how it transcends everything, including the rules that society sets for itself. This depiction truly made me cry tears. It is hard for many make devotees to admit this publicly, but Sri Krishna does make us men feel many of the same emotions the male dancers are depicting here. But men, I ask of you, if it is the divine that is sparking these emotions, why feel ashamed? I'm proud to say that my Lord makes me blush when I think of Him.

As a devotee of Indian dance culture, I envision a world where the boundaries of gender, partiality, color, and differences dissolve. In this choreography, everyone deserves praise. The mudras, expressions, and positions were impeccably executed, showcasing an out-of-the-box creation that I truly admire.

I don't know why I teared up watching this. It brings out so many emotions gushing at once giving me goose bumps all over. Why can't I take my eyes off picturing the 'Rasleela' of bhagwan Shri Krishna? So many Gopis and the Krishna...
Oh my God! Please give me the endurance and perseverance like these Gopis.
Thank you Subhajit and team for this wonderful depiction. (How can I call it a performance when it is so real?)
May God give you the strength and energy to carry the art and truth of our culture around the globe!

I am awestruck, mesmerized, reduced to tears. For years queer art and artists have struggled to express themselves in society and this is a great representation of how they turned to the lover of all- Krishna himself.

I found it difficult to accept in the beginning. But the way you've shown the divine Milan of 'Atma' with 'Paramatma' by the acting of 'Gandharvas' or the celestial dancers, I couldn't control myself and glanced with awe and devotion throughout the song.
You chose the worldly path of 'love' to show something out of the world- something unimaginable- but somehow you have managed to capture the absolute essence of the Milan. This might offend some people but wait until they figure out what you meant..
God bless your talent. You've shown me a new perspective- that 'atma' has no gender and it's longing to be with 'Paramatma' surpasses all worldly boundaries of gender, shame, pride- everything. The Divine takes every identity of yours to Himself and liberates you forever. 🦚🌷

What a beautiful performance! The subtle allusion to Lord Krishna through symbolic references like the blue attire, the peacock quills and the smearing of his foot with blue powder, without explicitly revealing his identity is breathtakingly amazing. Odissi choreography at its graceful best! Jai Jagannath.

Did anyone noticed...at 2:36 timestamp the person is trying to explain his encounter with Krishna and in background we can see that, focus on left side Krishna kissed the person, and this person explained the presentation is one in a divine

This is so feminine... Choreography resembles the Raas leela and samarpan to Krishna. Expressions are stunning... Shree Krishna is our ultimate love.
