A bomb cyclone smashed into California Wednesday, bringing powerful winds and torrential rain that was expected to cause flooding in areas already saturated by consecutive storms. Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in the state.

Saw some harsh comments so sharing a response. With God's grace, it was big rain event but Californians planned and went through it pretty much unscathed. Yes, electricity outages, flooding, infrastructure damage in some areas but good drainage systems, flood/fire management saved any large scale impact. On a brighter note, California admin/planners learned their lessons too - they now know what to fix, just like wild fires in last couple of years; California has been facing a consecutive drought situation. This weather event has definitely helped in resolving water shortage (all reservoirs are approaching satisfactory levels). So, thanks for the concern but all good.

They do not build concrete walled and floored houses even in non snowfall areas. Wooden houses are great for snowfall regions. They must build concrete houses in the cyclone and flood prone areas.
