Mario Gollwitzer is a professor of Social Psychology at the Department of Psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Marlene Altenmüller is a postdoctoral researcher with the Social Psychology group at The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

"Art" in all its forms is another example of the uniqueness of humanity. So, often scientists and YouTube commentators work very hard to diminish the exceptionality that is the human being. To reduce our many unequalled capabilities and expressions to a mundane level. To find a utilitarian purpose for the amazing things we all do, everyday. I take the opposite view. as magnificent as many animals are, they pale by comparison to us. They don't write novels or create symphonies. They don't build libraries like the one in this video. They don't perform life-saving or affirming surgeries on each other. They don't travel to space or contemplate any of the subjects discussed on this channel. We are very special. Art, in all its forms proves it, beyond doubt or the low opinions expressed by many scientists. It is clear that existence is a series of emergent phenomena, from the subtiest of sub-atomic particles to the Beatles or Beethoven. We are, despite all of our failings the supreme product of the universe and/or God, depending on your belief system.

High art is the depth of reality encrypted in aesthetic emotions. Art conveys information about reality through emotions.

The conscious mind is always trying to make order out of chaos.

Sometimes the process of bringing seemingly disparate stored memories into play can trigger an emotional response that has nothing to do with cognition. For example, you can’t articulate why a certain melody or rhythm is appealing or moving. It just is.

Art, in it’s many forms, evokes unconscious emotions which are very real and, imo, vital.

The body has five senses of brain network on each side of the body working through the five fingers and five toes and they also have a greater mobility for creativity because they work simultaneously with the brain through each individual fingers and toes which can be also improved through generations for future creativity.
Art is also a physical habit that ties in with genetics growth. Because humanity survivor status has dropped tremendously our creativity has advance and will continue to advance,

Art is like love, and perhaps flavour: it is not a representation of an external thing and therefore a purely internal human emotion or experience.

Animals experience flavour as well though. So perhaps there could be art in that way for them be made in the world: the art of flavour. Which is a unique animal(istic) experience. Not the appreciation of the art, which is a mental rational contemplative thing, but the *experience* of the art, which is an experiential contemplative thing, like for instance meditation is according to buddhists.

Art, in all its forms predates language in humans, it- using hands and face and body languages is art, at the very deepest levels art is a form of communication. As for psychologist saying reaction to art plays no functional/intrinsic function... um, then such psychologist do not really know anything about the human condition not all the ways humans communicate. Art is about connections between humans and across the human domain... just because art is, at times, not directly communicated by and in a definable linguistically explainable way does not mean communication... the transfer of the definable and undefinable information... is not occurring. All that lack of puttin' the peg in the hole means is that we have not yet arrived at the level of understanding we think we have.

"Absolute universality" is false. Do not pretend to be an astronaut. You're just a guy sitting in a chair. The universe will go on without you. We can only be persons and individuals.
