I didn't know there was a sequel until I saw the trailer for the 3rd installment. This looks like a low budget remake of the first one, I think I will skip 2. The trailer for 3 looks a little more promising.

Wtf... this is literally a remake, not a sequel. I peeped at least three or four scenes in this trailer that are literally just re-done versions of things that happened in the original movie and the plot seems to be almost exactly the same. Pointless, and the cast looks terrible. Not that the original's cast was outstanding or anything, but at least that movie was rather memorable and I actually gave a crap about the characters. This new one looks... no. Just no. The fact that they're promoting it as a sequel is laughable. It's a cheap Direct To DVD remake. Bottom line.

The movie is actually pretty good. It's a bit less intense than the original. The girl is pretty and the photography has lots of nice blues and greens. The extras are worth seeing and show how to make a low budget movie for DVD that looks good. It was shot in South Africa and many different people were involved, such as stunt coordinators, set designers, and CGI artists.

Actually just watched this movie yesterday and it was pretty good... The only thing that could've been better was the CGI of the sharks etc. 🙂👏🏻
