Head First is the tenth and final studio album to be released by British rock band Badfinger, released on 14 November 2000, but recorded 26 years earlier in December 1974–January 1975, at the Beatles' Apple Studios in London, although it was not released at the time. Originally intended to be Badfinger's eighth album (and third album under its six-album contract with Warner Bros. Records) (WB), the recordings were shelved when legal difficulties erupted between the band and WB that year, and the version that was finally released (as Badfinger's tenth studio album) was a rough mix of the album made in 1975 by Phil McDonald, one of the recording engineers at Apple Studios.

This version of "Lay Me Down" is a remaster of Phil McDonald's rough mix.

If Warner Brothers originally put this out as a single, it would have been another hit for Badfinger! - Eliot Wien, NYC.

Can you imagine if Joey Molland, Bob Jackson and Ron Griffiths teamed up for one last Badfinger Record!!!!

Wonderful mix. I believe "Wish You Were Here" was Badfinger's swan song, but "Head First" had fine moments as well.

Talk about an album that deserves to get a proper mix and master. The bare tracks just need a few adjustments to make it really perfect. This sounds great though!

That sounds much better. I'm afraid producers Kerner and Wise permanently did this album in. Mainly, the drum sound just doesn't compare with what Chris Thomas and Todd Rundgren had achieved previously. And I know it wasn't McDonald's fault. Having said this, you have done wonders bringing this to a greater standard. Kudos.

Why Spotify doesn't get this album?

This sounds more like from Wish You Were Here,
than Head First.
Head First was a rush job to try to get advance money from Warner Bros, , money that Stan Polley couldn’t get his hands on.
