Tibetans and Nepali relation goes back to 6AD when Tibetan King married a Nepalese princess Birukuti and since then Nepali artisan and businessman travelled to Tibet. Most of the early Tibetan temples were built by Nepali - precisely Newari. Tibetans went to Nepal and transit point for pilgrimage to Bodhgaya, Saranath etc. Tibetan monks went to Nepal to study Buddhism and also Sanskrit which is must to study Buddhism in India. Tibetan have monks travelled to India from 8AD-12AD to study Buddhism and stop going after 12 AD as Buddhism has dissappeared from the land where it was founded.

Momo is a product of centuries old cultural exchange between tibet and nepal. the basic ideas for making momo comes from tibet. It is a "dumpling" item, so its dumpling "ancestry" is traced to tibet but the unique dumpling delicacy that came to be known as momo was developed and perfected in nepal.

Momo arrived from Tibet to Nepal but we made it in our own style. Tibetian use meat only whereas we Nepalese mix veggies and meat and of course our chutney (sauce) makes our momo more special.

Momo is a Tibetan. It became popular in Nepal due to Tibetan refugees. The Momos became popular in India much later as India is such a huge country and most of the Tibetans are settled in the secluded area with agricultural land etc while in Nepal most of the Tibetans are disbursed or scattered among the Nepalese.

Yeah Momo was first originated from Tibet then it spread across to other countries. For example Korea they have Mandu. “Momo is the colloquial form of the Tibetan word "mog mog"”. This food traveled its way down towards South Asia (this is 100% tibetan dish) search it up LMFAO
