BMC URS: Modern Gravel Bike With a Retro Twist

preview_player
Показать описание
The all-new BMC URS takes everything that we (or at least our parents) loved about the early days of mountain biking and combines it with the hottest new school gravel tech. The bike is superbly fun and incredibly comfortable, but we'd be lying if we said there weren't a few features that, at least in our opinion, should have stayed in the '90s.

beautiful ride! I tested one and it felt like a dream both on road and on trail!

You can change elastomeres to get less upward flex.

It is good this d-seatpost is replaceable with 27.2 (for dropper post). That’s the Giant approach, and could be fixed if these posts have slippage problems like most of them do. But I suspect they are sticking with pressfit, aren’t they? I would trust Giant or Time to manufacture PF with tight tolerances, but how well does BMC do it? 3T had to ship their bikes with thread-together BBs because they kept having QA issues, and Trek and all went threaded.

Can the Red Shift stem be swapped out with a traditional one?

47mm of clearance is absurdly narrow on a "suspension" gravel bike designed to ride on rougher terrain. 50mm is the absolute minimum we should expect

I think it would be cool to compare this or the LT version to a gravel bike with 29x2.25-2.3 tires like the Sklar Super Something or Manzanita Whippet.

The Diverge is not UDH compatible. A deal killer.
