The Radius is a ring modulator and frequency shifter with pitch tracking and an advanced LFO. It is designed around a novel "eight-quadrant multiplier" algorithm that smoothly transitions from ring modulation to frequency shifting and allows different frequency ratios for the upper and lower tones. Radius puts complex harmonic structures, bell-like tones, metallic textures, frequency shifting, soft tremolo, and bubbly phaser sounds at your fingertips.

I bought this pedal for its bell-like tones and vibrato capabilities, absolutely amazing. Ring modulator is kind of a toy, it's fun.

In these hands, this pedal shows itself to set a new standard for ring-mod pedals (that are not really synth pedals with a ring-mod function). This is an elaborately specified ring-mod pedal, but clearly a ring-modulation pedal. Whatever its place in the market, it clearly has a lot of cool stuff going on, and be coaxed into ear-bending sounds. Red Panda has a winning way with not-standard pedals for creative players.

Aaaa yes!!! This pedal makes me really happy!!!
It’s been quite a long time since I saw and heard a pedal I liked so much that I felt I needed to have it, but I feel I need to have it!!! ❤

The last band that I can recall someone using a ring mod successfully, was Incubus. With enough fiddling during a looper pedal playing or on a synthesizer arpeggiating, one can find some pretty sweet spots.

Nice! like the 8:30 in, and the PHASE SHIFT Effect! Use to have the Smallstone Phase shifter in the 70's as A Teen ager...

Great review! It's BBC Sounds vols 1-50 in a small metal box.

50% of the comments are old guys in skynyrd T-shirts looking confused 😂

God gifted guys like Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran the ability to sit and play with knobs and buttons that make weird sounds for the gazillions of hours that it takes to find, and document, something cool, something inspiring, something useful. God did NOT gift me with that ability. That pedal would be used for likely 60 minutes and then I would have to take 2 Tylenol and sleep for at minimum 6 hours. It would never be used by me again. Been there, not going back. Sometimes the only tool that can fix it really is a hammer.

Shootout between this and the FC Randy’s Revenge? Both great I think…but the radius just might have me turning knobs more than playing guitar 🤔

Wild. Um. I imagine you practiced using this pedal for some time before you made the video. I would have had to.

Mike was the only one who could save this pedal from complete esoteric obscurity.
