Ankhsenamun - Wife of Her Half Brother, King Tut

In ancient Egypt, there was a girl named Ankhsenamun, and her life happened more than 3,000 years ago. Imagine being a princess in those times!

I was lucky to be born into a special family. My dad was a king named Akhenaten, and my mom was a queen called Nefertiti. When I was quite young, I got married to my half-brother, who later became a king known as Tutankhamun.

But my life took a twist. My husband, King Tutankhamun, passed away when we were still really young. That caused a big problem because our kingdom needed a leader.

To help the kingdom, I married another man named Ay. He became the king, and even though it might sound strange, it helped keep things calm in the kingdom.

My story has some mysteries too. Old letters suggest that I might have talked to a king from a different place called the Hittites. Maybe we were trying to solve problems or make friends, but we're not totally sure.

As time went on, we don't have a lot of records about me. It's like some parts of my life are missing. But historians and people who study ancient things are like detectives, trying to find out what happened to me.

I'm like a window into ancient Egypt's past. My life was full of kings, queens, big decisions, and things we're still trying to understand today.

Tutankhamun's mummy revealed so many deformities and illnesses he had, the image they recreated was not a handsome man with a perfect body, they said he suffered all his life from so many complications results from incest. They married their own father, mother and siblings. Royals to these days are all related.

That's where the saying "keep it in the family " came from.

AI and the reconstruction of women behind the scenes whose stories haven't been told seems to be a new and interesting method of learning. It's more interesting to hear the characters tell their own stories. I appreciate the diversity and genre.

I don't know why everyone gets so freaked out when someone mentions incest in history. It was so normal back then that it wasn't considered weird at all. It was acceptable and even expected behavior. It was done so recently that Queen Victoria who died in the early 1900s had a son who had hemophilia which is a blood disease prevalent amongst incestuous families

History as amazing as it was, keeping their lineage pure is straight up gross. That is why they had deformities, definitely not natural

Am I the only one kinda intrigued by the idea of historical figures retelling their stories? I mean so much, especially during ancient times, has been lost due to lack of writing it down or lost language. The concept of having a Night at the museum kinda encounter would be soooo cool. Just seeing what is true about the stuff we learn in history class and what is maybe completely false even

First of all. he was only known as KING TUT by Western folks (pls keep in mind I'm American). He would have been addressed as Pharoah Tutankhamun, not shortened into some nickname.

Ok. So she birth a child for her father when she was 13. The father died and she married her brother when he was 9 and she 13. Anyone else see anything out of the crazies here?

I wonder how many girls had to suffer abuse of having to be with their brothers and the father too 😢 that’s not something she was happy about and we aren’t sure when things started 😢.

How creepy to have all this be said with no emotions.

The incest thing back then was so normal in many cultures, especially with royalty. It was how they kept royal blood "pure"
