In the early 1970's my high school chemistry teacher, Sister Clarence, took us on field trips to the GE R&D centers in Niskayuna and Waterford (among other places). The scientists there talked to us about various projects, including the making of diamonds. It was fascinating and inspiring! Sister Clarence was an incredible teacher — she didn't just teach us chemistry, she taught us to love science!
