You are doing the sharpness test in a manner that gives you better results, the up-down angle conveniently almost hides it.

Yeah you're using the tester wrong. Using it with a sudden motion like that gives you inaccurate results. You can do it fast and get a result less than 0. I've seen -7 actually on them. You must do it as the manual shows. By placing the blade in the little black holder and slowly moving the blade into the wire until it cuts the wire. This is fake and made to sell these sharpeners.

I've never seen anybody do a cut test like that before. Might want to try to do it the right way before trying to sell your little sharpening tumbler.

Now do the sharpness test slowly with both, like you should be doing. A butter knife can get a good reading if you go fast enough.

I paid over $1000 for my Cutco knife set almost 10 years ago and they still sharp. They come super sharp brand new. Would have been nice to get a reading before you “sharpened” it.
