Had a former green beret and SFPD SWAT team member as a DS in BCT. He was closing in on his 20 years and wanted to earn his DS badge and brown round, and get a couple cycles in before he retired. He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. While all the other DS yelled or screamed, he would do corrective coaching, and try to teach anything he could.

My uncle was a Vietnam era green beret interrogator Permanent red in the whites of his eyes. Very calm and with authoritative passion, but twice I've seen him in rampage mode and I'll say this, when you're on his bad side, he's already conjured up 10 different ways to remove your mind, body and soul from this realm before he engages you!

My uncle was a Green Beret in Vietnam. He owns his own business, has bachelor's in chemistry, published author and speaks 4 languages. The only thing he can't do is wear shorts because of agent orange scaring.

It is ALL RELATIVE(!)...There are smart Seals and Force Recon types and even inteligent Army Rangers and AIRBORNE troops as well(!)...But, that is all terrain, landforms, weapons, tactics masteries because of their interface dynamics, where and WHEN they FIGHT(!)...how DEEP behind enemy lines and how much support they get or HAVE TO GENERATE FOR (AND BY) THEMSELVES!!! In WW2 we saw the SAS, the OSS, and a FEW other STRATEGIC level true WARFIGHTING level groups organizing, training, equipping, and leading UNDERGROUND resistance groups in the HEART of NATZI Germany(!), and working with both CHINESE (and Vietnamese) resistance factions against the Japanese(!)... That's the work of JACK SINGLAUB and AARON BANK(!)... These two men worked and TRIUMPHED in those combat and cultural enviroments!!! Since then(WW2, KOREA, VIETNAM, DESERT STORM etc.)...there are the SUPREME practicioners of ALL THE ABOVE(!!!)...U.S. DELTA, The SAS and the best of the other "I-5" countries spec ops formations. There are skrew-ups like sending SEALs into Afghanistan to let kids who had seen them go back to their village(?!?)... Then you get a big fat EPIC SKREWUP(!) that becomes the "LONE SURVIVOR" DEBACLE*** Ignorance by the excellent "doorkickers" got them MASSACRED!!! "INTERFACE" spec ops types are "SHOCK and AWE" overwhelming force types and they are just that and ONLY THAT!!! STRATEGY level operatives can do BRUTE FORCE but, their special knowledge, training, and mastery also affords them more subtle options that leave no discernable traces in acheiving TOTAL VICTORY over an enemy versus marginal and often meaningless "BODY COUNTS". "ROBIN SAGE" graduates are prepared to infiltrate, organize, fight at all levels from tactical to strateguc to improvise, adapt, overcome an enemy(or a group of enemies!) using their LANGUAGE, their CULTURE, their WEAPONS, their TECHNOLOGY, and even their PSYCHOLOGICAL PREFERENCES to constantly outmaneuver, confound, and UTTERLY DEFEAT THEM!!!
