The Caucasus - Between Two Worlds

If you like crossroads, the Caucasus is your destination. This is a place where the north meets the south and the West meets the East. The Caucasus marks one of the borders between Europe and Asia, maybe the most unknown one. It is really a crossroads, not only geographically, but also sociologically. Three countries with differences and similarities. The three of them have their own language and, in some cases, their own alphabet. Historic nations in the heart of Eurasia. Overwhelming scenery and amazingly friendly people. This is what I found. But, in any case, as usual, it is always better if you come in person and visit the place by yourself.

At 4"11" the announcer mistakenly calls the area he is visiting a center of an Arabic city. This is an error, there are no Arabic cities in Azerbaijan or even in surrounding countries. I wish the announcer had spoken at a SLOWER pace so he could be understood better, the combination of fast talking and a thick accent makes it hard to understand him.

Muchas gracias for sharing your wonderful travel experiences in this beautifully made video. It really opened our eyes (and hearts) and made us want to know more about this intriguing part of the world -- crossroads indeed! Much love from the Netherlands from Michel & Vanessa.

I am generally not one to criticize these excellent videos but when I checked many sources across the internet lake Sevan does not really rate as one of the very largest in the world by any measure including depth, water volume or area…..not sure where you got the “ fact “ that it is second only to lake Baikal which is the largest in the world by water volume and depth

Excellent, had hoped to visit Tbilisi and Yerevan this year but Rona stopped all that. Batumi is worth a visit to, I was not aware of this beautiful city. Anyway mate, lovely family, great videos.

Thank you very much for this nice video about our beautiful Caucasus. I would like to remark some facts. Azerbaijan is not a Islamic state. It’s a secular country, with highly secular traditions. Kish church is not Georgian. It’s a Aran church of Udi and Tsakhur Christian in Azerbaijan(Caucasian Albanian church). They have those churches almost in all provinces of Azerbaijan. Before Arabs invade Azerbaijani region (Caucasian Albania or Aran or Aqvan) people of Azerbaijan were Christians. And before that Zoroastrians.

Caucasus is not only Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan. Half of the territory of the Caucasus surprise is Russia. Such regions as Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Abzkhazia, South Ossetia. Why didn't you go there?
