in case we replicate session state when using statefull application, this is possible using clustering between java instances (1, 2, 3, 4), scaling is possible but limited to few instances horizontally ..so not fully scalable

mainly stateful would keep a session regarding the same client without losing any data, like traditional web applications do using php. But it gets me confused when they talk about serverless, it is not possible to keep that session. I would like to have a deep explanation about when use each one
