For making immutable classes, the class should be final and the parameters should be final and absolutely no setters.

Equals method from Object class and == perform in the same way i.e both of them compare the reference. Equals method which is overridden in String class, only in this scenario equals method compares the content and not the reference. We have equals method in string buffer class too, even there it compares the reference and not the content since its not overridden for comparing the value. This should be the actual explanation
