In this lecture, I have discussed the Hydrosilylation reaction. This reaction is basically the addition of Silicon-hydrogen bond (Si-H) across the carbon-carbon double bond (C=C). For this reaction, platinum is the best catalyst. However, there are many 3d transition metal based catalyst for the same target. Interestingly, the N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) provides better stability to the catalyst due to its synergistic bonding nature with the metal center, even in relatively lower oxidation state. This video is a summary kinds of which will help you to understand the chemistry in shorter time. I believe such kinds of question-answer discussion may be useful for exams like BSMS, IIT-JEE, NEET, JEE-Advance, JEE-main, B.Sc, M.Sc, CSIR-NET, GATE, IIT-JAM, BARC, BHU, DU, SET, CU, IISER, NISER, NIPER, IISc etc., or bachelor and master degree equivalent exams in chemistry. I have provided links to some related videos. Audiences are requested to watch them. Thank you for watching and all the best....
