Live Bikepacking Update (#1) From the Dalton highway! - Alaskan Arctic (Cycling the Americas)

Not long into my first full day I was stopped by some road construction along the Dalton Haul Road. They informed me I would have to load my bicycle onto a truck for the next 40 miles. After a few hours of waiting, speaking with friendly people from the state of Alaska and the private company doing the construction I was about to give up. I have yet to load my bicycle in a car for forward progress in 18 months of cycling on this trip! But after someone spoke with the higher-ups I was given a way through. I could bike for 3 hours along the rough pipeline service road and then if large trucks were done running I could jump back on the Dalton which is just what I did!

It is my first time trying an update on YouTube from the road (I update frequently at where_is_karl on Instagram) but I am just starting the Northern leg of my trip between Alaska and Argentina! Let me know if you like this!

Hey Karl, it's Jesse! We crossed paths a few days ago. Ben and I made it back down to Anchorage, safely. Hope to see you down here.
