How to not suck at ghost notes 👻🥁

Показать описание
Ghost notes 👻🎶 Crucial technique to learn!
Here are two things I always teach my students to set them up for ghost note success. 💪
✅ 1. Keep your "resting position" close to the snare drum.
You can't play ghost notes properly if there's too much travel distance.
After hitting a snare accent, focus on controlling the rebound and then "hovering" just an inch or so above the snare drum.
This will allow you to drop your wrist for a quick ghost note or two, without first having to move your hand and slamming the brakes. 💪
✅ 2. Increase your dynamic range.
Ghost note vs. accent separation is KEY! 🗝️
If your accents aren't that loud, and your ghost notes aren't very quiet, everything will blend together and kinda sound the same... No bueno.
The harder you are able to hit your accents, the more "dynamic room" you give your ghost notes.
Be INTENTIONAL with your notes! Accents should be loud, ghost notes should be quiet.
Avoid the blurry grey area in between, and your drumming will sound much cleaner. 👌
📍 SAVE THIS VIDEO and work on these tips next time you practice! 💪
There's a lot more to say about ghost notes...
Like where to put them in your fills or grooves.
Or how to practice playing them faster.
But we'll discuss that in a future video instead. ✌️
👀 So keep an eye out, and remember to subscribe if you want more drum lessons and tips in your feed. 🙏
