I graduated in 1990 when pharmacy school was 2 years of pre-pharmacy and 4 years of pharmacy school for a total of 6 years. Now schools are so competitive that most applicants have a 4-year undergrad, then 4 years of pharmacy school and 1 year of residency and perhaps a 1 year fellowship. That is 10 years of school, you might has well be a medical doctor.

I have been a Pharmacist for 26 yrs . Please Do not listen to this Lady, do your own research, Pharmacy is not the profession that it was 10 or 20 yrs ago . In Retrospect, I would never do Pharmacy and I told My children Not to peruse Pharmacy . The insurances most often under pay for the medication that you would dispense and if you work for retailers they treat you like a slave plus there are already so many Pharmacist out there without a job .

I want to be an industrial pharmacist because is includes many things I'm passionate about ie chemistry/science and the state I live in has a high pay for pharmacist and a good school so I don't have to leave the state
