College students think and act in the same style that a kindergartener draws a picture of Earth with people holding hands together in harmony. Your neighbor could be from any part of the world and you will (probably) get along with them and be friendly towards one another but these everyday interactions aren’t relevant to how countries actually operate in promoting and defending their interests that conflict with their neighbors interests.

Geopolitical relationships aren’t influenced by shared videos and likes, you’re just falling victim to Russia’s “gray warfare” strategy of essentially creating chaos and political strife in Western countries. The definition of allies is countries that share enough similar values and will die for one another (Iran & Palestine will not die for the average LGBTQ-supporting American college student)
