Love the Microcenter recommendation … totally worth the drive. Changes a lot of build prices. I was able to upgrade to the 7900x combo with the 64 gb of ram with a pricing error on their website for 450 and a 6950xt for 550 open box. Was trying to stay around 1200. Had enough leftover for a new fractal north case and an arctic freeze 360 b stock. Finally after Covid and crypto I got to make a leap from 1070 and barely doing 1440p to I don’t even know what to throw at this thing.

If you have a microcenter near you, be sure to get the 7900xt and the 7700x bundle at this budget. the 7900xt there is 700 dollars(50 dollars less than normal), but the 7700x bundle is extremely great for the price. It's only 400 dollars for the cpu, a motherboard that has wifi 6e and bluetooth 5.2 on it already( msi b650 p wifi) as well as 32 gigs of ddr5 6000 mhz cl36 ram(g.skill flare x5). this leaves you with 400 dollars to fit in storage, cooler, power supply, and case. I think that that much money is more than sufficient to get 2tb of ssd storage, an 850 watt psu, and whatever reasonably priced aesthetic case and fans you want.

I would leave the extra CPU power connector empty. How many content creators are going to be doing extreme overclocking with liquid nitrogen using their work PC? However, buying board that has that is not so bad an idea as it is most likely very well made to withstand extreme OC and that means it will last a long time without issues.
