Great review, finally one that doesn't compare it to the NT1A. I feel like the SM7B is the better option if you do have the extra money to spend on it, especially because it's so much better at rejecting background noise in an untreated room. Though including an interface it will prob cost you at the very least twice the price. But well, for recording many styles of rap vocals I personally feel like an Interface with real time processed monitoring is pretty essential anyway and compared to those the price difference between the mics then isn't even _that_ significant anymore.

I wanted to hear the rest of that rapping. I got the Aston which wasn't a true reflection of my voice. I now have the Rode 5th (sounds like a Beethoven movement) and it is almost what I require, while a little bit 'warm'. Just thinking about the Shure mv7+ (which out-performs the SM7B) to replace it. Hopefully that will hit the mark. I've got a mid-tone range voice, as well.

i got the sm7b, fet head, ua volt 1 and a microphone stand off sweet water for 700$ it’s definitely worth it
